Sasha Allen is the transgender openly female transgender singer who made it to the Live Shows on The Voice set the record straight when they got there. The first time in 21 years of The Vocal competitions Sasha could make it past to the Battle Rounds. Newtown's duo, Jim Allen and Sasha Allen have made it to the top 8 within the 21-year history of The Voice Live Shows! Sasha confessed that he's transgender during their package to participate in The Blind Auditions, and he stated to Parade.com that it was a decision that took thought and consideration. Sasha confessed that it was difficult to decide because he had to display a vulnerable aspect of himself in thousands and millions of people. He transitioned when at the age of high school. The fan support as well as the effects that this affected people even though the decision was hard to make it was what ultimately convinced Sasha that his decision was worth it. The Voice wasn't even around in the moment we performed this song. It was quite a surprise. We had heard of the song and were thinking of ways to organize it. "I was surprised by the way that fans executed the tune."
